Lambros, Trolls sweep Eagles to stay undefeated in CCAC Play

The Trinity women's volleyball team won all of their CCAC matchups so far this season, and the Trolls were hoping to continue the trend tonight against the Judson Eagles in Elgin. And the Trolls were able to do just that, beating the Eagles in three sets.

The first set was close between Trinity and Judson. The two teams were neck and neck the entire match. Even though the match was tied most of the way, the Trolls were able to jump ahead at the end, winning the first set 25-23.

The second set resulted in a larger margin between the two teams. The Trolls took an early lead off a service run from junior Anna Maatman and another run at the end of the match by junior Brianna Figueroa, which lead to Trinity winning the second set 25-17.

In the third and final set, the two teams kept the match close, but at the end, the Trolls were able to pull away from the Eagles, winning the set 25-21.

Leading the way for the Trolls was senior Ana Lambros, who finished with 11 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Sarah Kiwan also helped offensively, registering 10 kills on the night.

Senior Dani Van Laten also had a good night, registering 34 assists, along with junior Brianna Figueroa, who recorded 24 digs.

The Trolls will be back in action again this Thursday as they head to Indiana-South Bend, with the match beginning at 6 p.m. Central.
