Trolls grab quarterfinal win over Trojans in CCAC tournament

The Trinity women's soccer team competed in the quarterfinal round of the CCAC tournament today against the Trinity International Trojans. It was a close game between the two teams, but the Trolls were able to come out on top, beating the Trojans 1-0.

Throughout the first half of the game, the Trolls dominated the Trojans, with Trinity Christian putting up five shots compared to Trinity International's 1. But even with this, the game remained scoreless heading into the half.

Once the second half started, the Trolls were able to score a goal. Sophomore Brianna Uhl made a header off a corner kick from senior Taylor Miller to grab a 1-0 lead, which ultimately won the match.

This win was a full team effort for the Trolls, with junior Ally Kranstz recording her sixth shutout of the season. Besides Uhl and Miller, six other Trinity Christian players were able to put shots on goal including sophomores Selah Hopkins and Sara Shea, freshman Caitlin Bergsma, juniors Kaleigh VanElst and Easton Armstrong, and senior Lexxy Trujillo

The Trolls will be back in action at the Schaaf Athletics Complex again on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. They will face the winner of the No. 6 Holy Cross at No. 3 Cardinal Stritch.
