The Trinity women's soccer team hosted the Roosevelt Lakers today as they had Senior Day to honor their six seniors. With many players on the team getting time during this match, the Trolls were able to secure a 4-0 win over the Lakers.
All of the goals for Trinity were scored during the first half of the game. Sophmore Selah Hopkins opened up the scoring for the Trolls in the 23rd minute to make the score 1-0. Shortly after in the 29th minute, sophomore Brianna Uhl scored an unassisted goal of her own, making the score 2-0.
From there, the Trolls continued the scoring with junior Paige Rogers, who grabbed a goal in the 35th minute off a pass from junior Peyton Richmond. Hopkins was also able to score another goal off a pass from Uhl in the 37th minute. With these two goals, it gave the Trolls a 4-0 lead.
No one was able to score in the second half, resulting in a 4-0 score in favor of the Trolls.
Senior Lindsey Dykema recorded her first shutout of the season today, making two saves during the contest. Senior Taylor Miller helped put pressure on the opposing team's defense, putting up five shots with three on goal.
The Trolls will be back in action for their last home match of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 30, as they take on Holy Cross beginning at 3 p.m. at Schaaf Athletics Complex.
