The No. 19 Trinity women's soccer team opened their conference schedule with a 1-0 victory over Saint Xavier University at the Schaaf Athletics Complex. The Trolls secured the goal in the final 10 minutes of the game to get the win and keep their overall record unblemished at 6-0.
The Trolls applied pressure in the first half with eight shots at the goal of which the Saint Xavier goalkeeper stopped six while the other two missed the mark. While the Trolls did not find the net, they kept the Cougars from attempting a shot in the period.
Trinity continued their attack in the second half with a total of 15 shots. It was not until the 81st minute that they got the look they needed as sophomore Brianna Uhl scored on an assist from sophomore Selah Hopkins.
Overall the Trolls had 23 shots for the game while holding Saint Xavier to three.
Trinity continues conference play next week with a home contest on September 24 against Indiana University-South Bend at 4 pm.
