Armstrong goal helps Trolls beat No. 19 Embry Riddle

The Trinity women's soccer team came into this match ranked No. 22 in the NAIA and had an undefeated record. They were ready to take on the No. 19 team in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles, who the Trolls beat in overtime 1-0.

Both teams contended greatly throughout the match, with top-notch defense on both sides. With these strong defensive efforts, it resulted in the match going into overtime.

And in the 97th minute, junior Easton Armstrong found the back of the net, registering a goal and ending the scoring drought between the two teams. On this goal, sophomore Selah Hopkins recorded an assist.

On defense, freshman Ashley Wurtz was in goal, contributing many key saves to keep the Trolls in the match. The rest of the Trolls' defensive line helped hold the Eagles to no goals.

Trinity will be back in action on Sept. 21 as they take on Saint Xavier in their first conference match of the year.
