The Trinity women's soccer team continued with CCAC play on Oct. 16 as they went to Elgin, Illinois to play the Judson University Eagles. After an offensive battle between the two teams, the Trolls came out on top, beating the Eagles 3-1.
At the start of the first half, the Trolls were already successful. Sophomore Brianna Uhl scored in the third minute of the game, resulting in a 1-0 lead from the start. It didn't take much longer for sophomore Selah Hopkins to join the scoring mix off a pass from sophomore Katie Drenth in the 17th minute, giving the Trolls a 2-0 lead at the half.
Once the second half began, the Trolls scored even faster than they did in the first. Junior Paige Rogers found the back of the net less than 30 seconds into the half with an assist from senior Taylor Miller, helping the Trolls get a 3-0 lead on Judson. The Eagles were able to grab a goal during the second half thanks to Josett Perez, who scored in the 54th minute. But it wasn't enough for Judson. The Trolls won the match 3-1.
Overall, the Trolls took 10 shots while the Eagles took 12. This win now puts Trinity at 7-1 in conference play at 12-1 overall.
The Trolls will be back in action again this Saturday as they host the Robert Morris University Eagles beginning at 12 p.m.
