Reggie Chapple was named the new head coach of the women’s basketball program for the 2012-13 season. He comes to Trinity from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, where he served as head coach for three seasons.  At Valley Forge produced three winning seasons with a 56-39 overall record and led the Lady Patriots to two NCCAA Division II National Tournaments with back-to-back East Region championship titles in 2011 and 2012.  

In his first season at Valley Forge Chapple improved the team’s record by 10 victories with a 16-10 finish and was named NCCAA Division II National Coach of the Year. The following year he had a 20-plus win season at 22-12 and followed with an 18-17 record in 2011-12.

Chapple has also served as an assistant men’s basketball coach and head men’s volleyball coach at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania.  As a student-athlete, he played on the men’s basketball team at Valley Forge from 2002-04 after competing at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont for two seasons. At Valley Forge he surpassed the 1,000 point career scoring mark, averaging 20.3 points per game for the Patriots, and earning NCCAA Division II All-American honors.

Chapple graduated from Valley Forge in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sports management.  

Chapple is an assistant professor in the physical education department and the residence director of Trinity’s office campus apartments. He lives with his wife Laquetta and sons, Baylor, Ty, Cayden, and daughter, Jayla, in Worth, Illinois.

 

Assistant Coach

learned 12-13Amanda Learned ’09 has been a member of the coaching staff for the past two seasons. Learned is familiar with the program as she was a four-year student-athlete for the Trolls. At Trinity she was named all-conference for three seasons and was the CCAC Freshman of the Year in 2005-06. She also earned

NCCAA all-region honors three times and NCCAA all-American honorable mention status in her senior year.  Learned was on the 2006-07 team that won the conference tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.

Learned graduated from Trinity in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and leisure studies. She spent one year coaching freshman girls’ basketball at Wheaton Academy, her alma mater. She is currently employed as a paraeducator at Elim Christian School.
