Missy Bolhuis is in her fourth season as the head softball coach at Trinity. She took over the program shortly before the start of competitive play in the spring of 2010 and led the Trolls to a 17-32 record. At 9-9 in the conference the team finished in fifth place and advanced to the post-season conference tournament for the first time in six seasons. For the past two years the team has posted 11-24 (2011) and 10-37 (2012) records.
Bolhuis was a four-year player at Chicago Christian High School in Palos Heights, Illinois. She went on to play at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, where she played both in the infield and outfield. At Lewis she earned All-American Academic honors.
Bolhuis earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and human services from Lewis University in 2005. She is currently employed as a residential counselor/transitional housing specialist at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. She lives with her husband Bill.
Tim Kraiss joined the coaching staff for the 2010-11 season. He was a four-year baseball player at Chicago Christian High School in Palos Heights, Illinois. As a high school senior he traveled to Puerto Rico to play with a national team in a tournament with Coast to Coast Baseball.
Kraiss is the brother of head coach Missy Bolhuis and the son of Dan and Jill Kraiss. He is employed by Southwest Airlines.
Sarah Porzel joins the coaching staff for the 2012-13 season as the pitching coach. She gained pitching experience as a player for Lockport High School (Illinois) and at St. Ambrose University (Davenport, Iowa) where pitched for the Queen Bees for three years before an injury ended her career. Her coaching resume includes one season as coach at Assumption High School in Davenport as well an instructor in private pitching lessons.
Porzel graduated from St. Ambrose in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. She currently resides in Homer Glen, Illinois.
