Trolls Take First Place at Jaguar Invite

It was a very positive day for the Trolls at the Governors State University Jaguars Spring Invitational. After 18 holes at Lincoln Oaks Golf Club in Crete, Illinois, the team finished in first place of the three schools in the match. Their top place finish is a first for the program and their team score of 372 is a new best for lowest team score. The Trolls were 76 strokes ahead of the next team.

In addition to an overall top team finish, the Trolls also had the top three individual finishers. Shooting career low rounds, Merina Miner and Sara Blauw were first and second respectively.  On the par 71 course, Miner was 11 over par with an 82 and Blauw was one stroke back with an 83. Both of the finishes were bests for these golfers.

Also posting her best finish was Ashley Martinez who took third place overall of the 15 golfers. She came in with a final score of 93.

Racyne Johnson finished the round in eighth place with a score of 114. She was only one stroke back from the competitor directly ahead of her. Indira Escalante scored her career best round with a 119 and was ninth overall.

The team will compete next in the CCAC Championship on April 26-27.
