Trinity Competes In Olivet Nazarene Spring Invitational

The Trolls began their spring season at Kankakee Elks Country Club in St. Anne, Illinois in the Olivet Nazarene University Spring Invitational.  The team played 36 holes of golf over two days and ended with a team score of 852. They shot a 430 on Friday and improved that effort by eight strokes on Saturday with a 422. Overall the team ended in seventh place of the seven teams.

The team was led by Merina Miner who finished tied for 8th place overall of 38 golfers. She sat in a tie for 18th place after the first round with an 89, but made a four stroke improvement to jump 10 places.

All four of the other golfers for the team also improved their score from the first round to the second round. Ashley Martinez shot a 101 on Friday and a 100 on Saturday to finish in 30th place. Abby Leo had a 118 and a 116 to take 33rd place. One place behind her was Racyne Johnson with a 122 and 121. The final golfer for the Trolls was Indira Escalante who recorded a 140 and a 139 to finish in 37th place.

The team competes next on April 13-14 in the Bethel College Pilot Spring Invitational.
