Trolls Begin Season

The season opener for the Trolls was the Holy Cross CCCA Cup at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Illinois.  Six CCAC teams competed in 36 holes over two days and the Trolls finished in fifth place overall with a team total of 800 on the par 70 course. After the first day the team was in fifth place with a 391 and they did not improve their standing after the second round to remain in fifth place.

After day one sophomore Merina Miner and freshman Ashley Martinez were in the top half of the field of 29 golfers.  Miner, who shot a 91 and was in 14th place after that first round, continued to stay in the top half and finished in a tie for 13th place. Her second round was a 98. Martinez led the team after 18 holes as she posted a 90 and was tied for 12th place. With a 103 on the second day she ended in 17th place overall.  

Sophomore Sara Blauw turned in a 98 and a 102 and ended in 22nd place. Rounding out the team was freshman Racyne Johnson in 28th with a 218 and sophomore Abby Leo in 29th with a 254.

The September 1 match originally on the schedule for the team has been cancelled. The Trolls will play next on September 15-16 in the Bethel College Invitational.
