Trolls Participate in CCAC Championship

The four members of the women’s golf team competed in a field of 10 teams in the CCAC Championship held at Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Illinois. The team had to battle a tough course, strong competition, and some adverse weather conditions over the two day tournament. After the 36 holes the team ended in 10th place.

It was the first conference championship for the two-year program.  After the first round the team was in the final place with a team total of 508. The weather improved on the second day as did the scores. Even though the team shot 16 strokes better they did not gain ground in the final standings.

Merina Miner led the team. She shot a 102 on the first day and was tied for 30th of the 48 golfers. She recorded a 103 on day two and dropped a few spots for a final of 33rd place.

Sara Blauw recorded a 110 after the first 18 and she was in 39th place. She came back the next day with a 107 and moved up to 36th place.

Abby Leo shot a 146 and a 136 and took 46th place and Indira Escalante recorded a 150 and 146th for 47th place.
