Trinity Gets Taste of Competition

In their second season of competition, the women’s golf team opened the 2016 year in the Governors State University Jaguar Invitational. The Trolls had two golfers participate in the event which consisted of a total of 15 competitors. They played over two days at two different courses, Lincoln Oaks and Balmoral Woods Golf Courses.

On the first day of competition freshman Sara Blauw shot a 92 on the par 71 course at Lincoln Oaks. Her score was a great collegiate start as she set a school record for low round. She played well the next day with a 109 and finished in 10th place.

Rachael Tupper was the second golfer for the Trolls and she finished with a 284.

The women’s team was scheduled to participate on September 6 in the NCCAA Regional, but will not be a part of that team competition. The golfers will on September 16 in the Purdue-Northwest Fall Classic.
