Career: Jon is a third-year thrower…….placed fourth in the javelin, sixth in the shot put, and eighth in the discus at the 2012 CCAC Championships …….set the school record in the shot put (46-04.00) in the outdoor and in the indoor seasons last year…….took third place in the shot put at the 2011 CCAC Championships…….ranks first in the shot put, second in the discus, and sixth in the javelin in Trinity’s outdoor season records book ……. participated in track for three years in high school…….competed in the shot put at the high school state meet twice…….won sectionals in the shot in his high school senior year

Personal: accounting major…….parents are James and Cheryl DeYoung…….is an only child…….played basketball for four years, golf for three years, and baseball for one year in high school…….was named to the Athletics Department Honor Roll…….was a member of Trinity’s men’s junior varsity basketball team in 2010-11
