Jackie Manrique took over the softball program in the 2016-17 season.  In her first season she led the team to an 18-22 overall record which is the most wins in the past three years and the only the second season in over 10 years to reach 18 victories. She also guided the team back to the CCAC Championship since 2014.

Manrique came to Trinity from North Park University, where she has served as an assistant coach for three seasons.  At North Park, she assisted with all aspects of the softball program, but especially worked with the pitchers and catchers.  In addition, Manrique has given private pitching instruction for the past five years and been involved with various pitching clinics.

Manrique pitched collegiately at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, a NCAA Division II program, from 2010-2013. As a relief pitcher for the Huskies, she posted a 3.57 earned run average in her freshman year and a 3.92 ERA as a sophomore before injury limited her in her junior season.  During her time at St. Cloud she received All-American Scholar-Athlete honors.

A Chicago native, Manrique was a four-year player at Lane Tech High School, where she led the Indians to three straight conference titles. She was a three-time all-conference selection and served as a team co-captain all four of her seasons.  In the summer of 2009 she also competed on Team America with elite softball players from around on the country.

Manrique earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations after three years and graduated in 2013 from St. Cloud State University.  She went on to receive a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from North Park University in 2016. She resides in Chicago, Illinois.


 

Assistant Coach

Hannah LeBeau joins the coaching staff for the 2017-18 season. She will assist the team in all aspects of the game, but will concentrate on working with the infield and hitting. She comes to Trinity after comp for four years as a student-athlete on the softball team at NCAA Division II Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.  For the Crimson Storm LeBeau was a starting catcher or infielder and in her four-year career she played in 186 games with a .275 career batting average and a .970 career fielding percent.  As a student-athlete she received multiple academic all-conference honors in the Great America Conference.  

In addition to her playing experience, LeBeau has served as a softball skills camp counselor at Southern Nazarene where she was involved in instruction of skills and game management. She also has experience working with youth as a counselor at a YMCA camp and a middle school summer camp.

LeBeau graduated in2017 from Southern Nazarene University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.  In addition to coaching, she works as a graphic designer for a local company in Palos Heights.  LeBeau is a native of Keller, Texas and the daughter of Tom and Jill LeBeau.
