Coach Jackie Manrique is putting her 2017-18 roster together and increasing the size of the roster as well as added talent to the program with the incoming class. She has already secured commitments from a number of student-athletes who have signed letter of intent to play for the Trolls and join Trinity. The members of the new recruiting class will be a positive addition to the team and to the campus.

Caitlyn Aardema
Hometown:  Oak Forest, Illinois

High School: Oak Forest High School

Softball Background: Four-year starting pitcher at Oak Forest.

Awards and Achievements: Received SSC Blue All-Conference honors in her junior year.

Coach Manrique comment: “We are very excited for Caitlyn to join our program. She adds depth to our pitching staff as well as a strong bat to our lineup.

Intended major: nursing

Emili Bell
Hometown:  Clinton, Wisconsin

High School: Clinton High School

Softball Background:  Four year varsity player at Clinton High School.  Is a left-handed pitcher and first baseman.  Plays for the Illinois Sparks.

Awards and Achievements:  Was Second-Team All-Conference and MVP for her high school team in 2016 season. Was Rookie of the Year in 2014. Is an Honor Roll student.  

Coach Manrique comment: “Emili is a great pitcher that we believe will do spectacular things while in a Trolls uniform. She has had great success in her past that we are confident will translate into her collegiate career.”

Other:  Played varsity basketball for three years at her high school.  She has been on mission trips to South Dakota, Kentucky, and Ohio.

Intended major:  physical therapy or athletic training

Jessica Boyd
Hometown:  Braidwood, Illinois

Previous School: Prairie State College (Chicago Heights, Illinois)

High School: Reed-Custer High School (2015)

Softball Background: Played at Prairie State for past two seasons.

Awards and Achievements:  Helped Prairie State Illinois Skyway Conference title. In two seasons at Prairie State she had a .312 batting average, .368 on-base percentage, and a .892 fielding percentage. Received NJCAA Pinnacle Academic Achievement award.

Coach Manrique comment: “Jessica’s desire to be a part of our program is appreciated more than she knows. She’s a great athlete, person and student. We look forward to having her on our roster.”

Jessica Cachu
Hometown:  Pomona, California

High School:  Garey High School

Softball Background: Plays at Garey. Plays for Coach Marcus Rojas with Clutch Up Softball Academy

Awards and Achievements: Earned First-Team All-League honors in 2016 season. Is on a Top 20 list for 2017 class

Brandi Machado
Hometown:  Chino, California

Softball Background: Is a catcher. Received private catching lessons from Jen Schroeder, former UCLA player and catching instructor. Played for Quickturn, Firecrackers, and American Pastime Softball clubs

Hometown:  New Lenox, Illinois

High School: Lincoln-Way Central High School

Softball Background: Plays for Lincoln-Way Central and Tinley Park Rockers U18

Awards and Achievements: Received a Sportsmanship Award

Audrey Ricker
Hometown:  Alexandria, Indiana

High School: Pendleton Heights High School

Softball Background: Is a pitcher and third baseman. Plays for the Indiana Shockwaves.

Awards and Achievements:  Earned Hoosier Heritage All-Conference honors. Was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Received the Herald Bulletin Player of the Year Award.

Coach Manrique comment: “Audrey was one of the first athletes I ever brought to campus. Our coaching staff knew right away she was going to be a great fit for our college and the program. She’s a phenomenal athlete and young woman. We’re excited to have her.”

Jessica Wasik
Hometown:  Crestwood, Illinois

High School:  Oak Forest High School

Softball Background:  Is a center fielder.  Plays for the Tinley Park Bulldogs

Awards and Achievements:  On the High Honor Roll for each year of high school.  Academically in the top 15 in her class.

Emma Zenkel
Hometown: Naperville, Illinois

High School: Metea Valley High School

Softball Background: Is a three-year starting first baseman at Metea Valley. Plays for Plainfield Edge Chaos.

Awards and Achievements:  Earned academic All-Conference honors for the past two years. Has been to five national tournaments with third, fourth, and ninth place finishes.
