New Athletics Leadership at Trinity

Trinity Christian College has named Mark Hanna as Associate Vice President for Student Life and Athletics. For the first time in the history of Trinity’s Athletics Department, the College has identified a full-time administrator to provide leadership for the program. In this role, Hanna will serve as Athletics Director but will also have expanded leadership that will contribute to committees and projects that are more institutional in nature.

“Mark possesses strong leadership skills,” said Becky Starkenburg, Vice President for Student life. “He is respected across campus, is relational, and cares deeply for the people he works with. His skill set includes strong facility management experience and supervision of a wide range of staff. He brings a positive perspective and is committed to leading and seeing Trolls Athletics thrive in this next era.”

Hanna is not new to Trinity as he has worked at the College for the past 15 years, most recently as the Dean of Students. He first came to Trinity in 2003 and served as a Residence Director.  Because of his leadership skills and passion for students, he was named the Associate Dean for Student Life in 2006. In the 2012 he became the Dean of Students, a position he has served faithfully for the past six years as an advocate for students while leading and developing a wide range staff and programs in student life and contributing to numerous campus projects and initiatives.

“Trinity is a compelling institution with a deep Christian commitment and a rich vision for all our students,” commented Hanna. “I am elated about this new opportunity to serve the Trinity community and, in particular to offer my leadership and experience in an effort to cultivate a flourishing athletics program.”

Hanna has made the transition to the Athletics Department and started in his new role as of August 1.
