Trolls Are Back in Action in 2017-18

The fall sports student-athletes are back on campus and busy with their preseason training for the 2017-18 season. The women’s volleyball team officially opens the year with competition on August 16. Their debut takes place in California where they will play in four matches over two days in the Hope international/Vanguard Summer Slam. The team follows up with a match at San Diego Christian College on August 19. The following week the Trolls have their home opener as they host the Saint Xavier/Trinity Crossover on August 25-26. In that weekend tournament Trinity plays at 4 pm and 8 pm on Friday and at 9 am on Saturday.

The men’s soccer team begins their season on the road on August 19 in a 7 pm game at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  Their home opener is a double-header with the women’s soccer team on August 22 as the Trolls host Clarke University. The men’s team takes to the field at 4:30 pm.

The women’s soccer team will play their first four games in front of a home crowd at the Schaaf Athletics Complex. The team opens on August 22 at 2 pm against Clarke. They return the next day, August 23, for a 4 pm game with Huntington University and then are home again on the 26th and 29th.

The men’s and women’s golf teams get their first taste of competition at the end of the month when they play in the CCAC Cup hosted by Holy Cross College at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Illinois, on August 28-29. The teams will tee off in 10 am shotgun starts on both days.

The cross country teams make their first appearance on September 1 at the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints Twilight Invite at Channahon Community Park. The men’s race starts at 6 pm and the women follow at 6:30 pm.
