Designed to draw awareness to its institutions and brand, the NAIA is conducting a Mascot Challenge that will operate in postseason tournament style that will pit school mascots against each other. As a part of that nation-wide NAIA Mascot Challenge, the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) has launched the first phase of the challenge on Friday, February 3, with voting on Twitter to determine the league’s most popular mascot.
The Troll, in a field of 10 CCAC mascots involved in the Challenge, needs votes to be one of the two mascots from the conference that will advance to the National Tournament. In the Opening Round the Troll will earn points for each like and retweet of the Mascot Challenge announcement on @CCACSports (twitter.com/CCACSports) and on our official athletics acccount @TrollsAthletics (twitter.com/trollsathletics/) received during the voting hours from noon on February 3 to noon on February 4. Two points are awarded for each retweet and one point for each like.
The conference mascot with the most opening round points will earn an automatic bid to the national tournament. The mascot with the lowest point total will be eliminated. The remaining eight mascots will be seeded into a single-elimination based tournament based on their opening round points.
