Brianna Figueroa Named CCAC Volleyball Defender of the Week

For the second time this season Brianna Figueroa (Hammond, Indiana) received CCAC Volleyball Defender of the Week honors.  The latest accolade came from the week of September 10-15 in which the team posted two victories to improve their overall record to 7-3.

Figueroa, a sophomore libero, averaged 4.33 digs per set in the two matches. In a four-set conference win against Indiana University-South Bend she had a total of 15 digs. She tallied a team high 24 digs in a five-set non-conference contest at Saint Xavier University. For the two matches she posted a .981 service reception percentage, including a perfect 31-31 against Saint Xavier.

Overall for the season Figueroa ranks second in the conference with a 5.11 dig average. She also ranks 32nd in the nation in that category.
