CCAC Player of the Week Honors for Stoll and Van Laten

For the second time this season Kacie Stoll and Dani Van Laten earned CCAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors. The Attacker of the Week recognition for Stoll and Setter of the Week acknowledgement for Van Laten came after a week in which the team was 3-1 with their first conference victory and their only loss to a nationally ranked opponent.


Senior right-side hitter Stoll led the team offensively with a total of 54 kills in four matches for a 4.15 kill average. She registered double-digits in kills in each of the four matches, including a week high of 18 kills with only two errors in 37 attempts in a three set win over William Woods University (Fulton, Missouri), a team receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll.  For the week she posted a .261 attacking percentage.

Stoll produced a double double in three of the four matches in kills and digs. She had a match high of 14 digs against William Woods. While not reaching double digits in digs against No. 5 Viterbo University (La Crosse, Wisconsin), she led the team with five blocks in that match. Stoll was named to the Viterbo Holiday Inn Express Invite All-Tournament Team.

Van Laten, a junior setter, was instrument in the team’s offensive production as she handed out 139 assists for the week for a 10.6 average.  She had at no less than 36 digs in three of the matches.

In addition to her assists, she also recorded double digits in digs in two of the matches. She led the team with nine aces, including four in a four-set win over Waldorf University (Forest Park, Iowa).  She also ended the week with seven assisted blocks.  

Overall the Trolls are 5-3 for the season. Their results of the week were:
-September 6 – 3-0 win over Governors State University
-September 7 – 3-1 win over Waldorf University
-September 8 – 3-0 win over William Woods University
-September 9 – 3-0 loss to Viterbo University
