Coach Schepel Records 300th Career Win

With a victory at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, on September 21, Coach Bill Schepel earned his 300th career match win as Trinity’s head women’s volleyball coach. The career milestone comes in his 11th season and makes him the first coach in any sport at Trinity to reach 300 wins.  

Coming into the 2017 season Coach Schepel posted a 290-138 coaching record in 10 years and was ranked 15th in winning percentage in the NAIA among active coaches.  He has led the Trolls to six seasons with 30-plus victories and has been over that 30-win mark in six of the last seven seasons.

Schepel achieved his 100th Trinity victory in 2011 in his 5th season and hit the 200th mark in the opening weekend of the 2014 season.  To date he has a 300-145 match record and a 923-545 set record.

In his tenure Schepel has led the team to the conference tournament championship match four times and claimed the title in 2015 and 2013. He has also directed the Trolls to the top of the CCAC regular season standings three times.  His teams have advanced to the NAIA National Tournament three times, including a final site appearance in 2013. In addition, Schepel has led the Trolls to two NCCAA National Championship titles with the most recent a year ago.
