Trolls Clinch Conference Season Title

With a victory in their final game of the regular season the Trolls claim the title of regular season champions. Playing at Saint Xavier University (Chicago, Illinois), Trinity took a 1-0 lead at the half, and finished the game with a 3-0 win. The team ended their conference record with only one loss and ended their regular season with a near-perfect record at 16-1.

The Trolls took control of the game from the start and they fired 10 shots at the goal in the period while Saint Xavier had only two shots.  The team got on the board in the 19th minute when Jessica Bianchi scored on a break-away. That 1-0 score held at the half.

Trinity got an extra advantage ten minutes into the second period when Saint Xavier put in an own goal to give the Trolls a 2-0 lead. The team made the difference three goals in the 70th minute as Selah Hopkins scored from 15 yards out.  At the game’s end the Trolls walked away with the 3-0 win.

For the game the Trolls ended with 22 shots and Saint Xavier had five. Allyson Kranstz recorded three saves in the game. The shut-out was the 13th one for the team.

The Trolls will host a CCAC Tournament Quarterfinal game on November 3.
