Trolls Deny Eagles

The Trolls earned their sixth shut-out win of the season with a 5-0 victory at Robert Morris University (Chicago, Illinois) in a conference game. The team scored twice in the first half to build a lead. They added another three goals in the second half while holding the Eagles away from the goal. Trinity remains undefeated for the season with a 9-0 record. They are 2-0 in the CCAC.

Once again it was Jessica Bianchi who got things going for the Trolls when she scored 10 minutes into the game. She ripped a shot 18 yards out and found the far post.  A shot launched to the far left corner of the goal by Selah Hopkins in the 25th minute gave the Trolls a 2-0 lead.

Trinity did not waste time putting another goal on the board in the second half when Hopkins scored four minutes into the period. Jessica Owen had the assist.

The next two goals of the game belonged to Brianna Uhl who scored in the 69th minute on a high shot on a pass from Owen and on a penalty kick in the 75th minute.

The Trolls ended the game with 21 shots of which 14 were on-goal. Robert Morris had 10 shots with three on-goal.  Allyson Kranstz had three saves and shared the shut-out with Lindsey Dykema.

The team will continue conference action on January 26 at Judson University at 4 pm.
