Trolls Post Win Against Red Raiders

The Trolls keep their winning streak and perfect record alive with a victory at Northwestern College (Orange City, Iowa).  After the first half the game was scoreless, but the Trolls took control in the second period and scored three goals on their way to the 3-1 win. The team is now 4-0 for the season.

Trinity had the advantage in the first period and took 12 shots, while holding Northwestern without an attempt. However at the intermission the score was 0-0.  

The Trolls came out strong in the second period and nine minutes into the half their efforts paid off as they scored their first goal. Jessica Bianchi got the team going with a goal on a Jessica Owen assist.  Ten minutes later the team was on the board again when Shaelyn Postmus found the back of the net.

Trinity increased their lead to 3-0 in the 79th minute when Bianchi struck with a shot to the near post.

Northwestern was not to be denied and with nine minutes in the game they scored to make it 3-1. It was the first goal the Trolls have given up this season.

For the game Trinity ended with 29 shots while Northwestern had four. Allyson Kranstz was in the goal with two saves.

Trinity will play their third game in four days on September 4 as they play at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa at 2:30 pm.
