The Trolls claim the CCAC Tournament Championship title with a 3-2 victory over Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) in the final game.  The No. 4 Wolves took a 1-0 half-time lead. The teams battled back and forth, but Trinity, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, had the final say with a goal in the last five minutes of the game.  With the win the Trolls advance to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round on November 18.

With two determined teams, the entire 90 minutes of play was an intense battle.  Cardinal Stritch got the first advantage when they scored midway through the first period to take the lead.  While each team had six shots in the half it was that one that made the difference at the end of the period.

Trinity made a statement in the opening two minutes of the second period when Jessica Bianchi scored on an assist from Taylor Miller at 46:35. Their momentum was somewhat quieted four minutes later when the Wolves answered and regained the lead at 2-1.

The Trolls continued to rally and in the 63rd minute they got the equalizer as Bianchi dribbled around the defense and chipped one over the Wolves’ keeper to make it a 2-2 game.  The deadlock continued until the 85th minute when Bianchi fired a shot that Cardinal Stritch’s goalkeeper deflected away, but Jadyn Wilson was there to gather the rebound for the game-winner.

Overall the Trolls had 15 shots for the game and Cardinal Stritch ended with 11. Sierra Christopher and Emily Ponstein split time in the goal for the Trolls with three and two saves respectively.

Trinity will find out their NAIA Opening Round opponent on November 13 in the 11 am selection show on
