Trolls Defeat Judson

The Trolls came on strong in the second half to post a 5-1 win over Judson University (Elgin, Illinois) in a home conference game. The score was tied 1-1 at the half, but Trinity took over in the second period as they added four more goals to the scoreboard. With the win the team is 9-1 overall and 2-1 in the CCAC.

The shot count was lopsided in favor of the Trolls in the first period, but the scoreboard did not reflect that difference. Judson took three shots in the period and one of them was a goal in the 22nd minute. Trinity had 11 shots in the half, but did not get on the board until the 43rd minute. The goal came from Easton Armstrong after a touch by Jessica Bianchi.

Trinity continued to fire at the goal in the second period and their attempts made a difference.  In the 67th minute Bianchi scored to give the Trolls the lead and less than a minute later Jadyn Wilson scored to make it a 3-1 game.

The Trolls were not finished as Wilson found the net again on a pass from Alexa Miller in the 76th minute. Then with less than six minutes left in the game Bianchi curled the ball in from the right end line to bring the final to 5-1.

Trinity had a total of 27 shots for the game. They allowed Judson only one shot in the second period to bring the Eagles’ shot count to four for the game. Sierra Christopher had one save in the first half and Emily Ponstein had one save in the second half.

Next up for the Trolls is a conference game at the University of St. Francis on September 30 at 6 pm. (Note the game time has changed from 1 pm to 6 pm.)
