Trolls Claim Overtime Win

The Trolls keep their record unblemished as they pulled off an overtime win at Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, Michigan). Trinity posted a 1-0 lead at the half and maintained that top spot until the final three minutes of the game when Aquinas got the equalizer.  Five minutes into the overtime period Trinity capitalized on a scoring opportunity to get the golden goal for the 2-1 win. The team is now 5-0 for the season.

The team held that 1-0 lead throughout the rest of the first half and the majority of the second half. With the intensity and excitement on a high level, both teams pushed in the extended play. Five minutes into the overtime period Tori Rivas send a high arching ball from beyond the center line toward the goal. Jessica Owen tracked that pass and put her head on the ball for the shot that found the net and gave the team the win.

Overall the Trolls had 16 shots of which eight were on-goal. Aquinas had 10 shots with seven on-goal. Sierra Christopher and Emily Ponstein split time in the goal with Ponstein recording the win.
