Jessica Bianchi Earns Player of the Week Honors

Jessica Bianchi (Elmhurst, Illinois), a junior forward, was instrumental in the 3-0 start to the season for the women’s soccer team and has been recognized as the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference and for the National Christian College Athletic Association. Bianchi captures the weekly honors with an impressive offensive production of eight goals and two assists in the three games.

Bianchi started the week off by scoring the first three goals of a 4-0 win over Clarke University (Dubuque, Iowa) in the team’s season debut. It was the first of her two hat tricks for the week.

The next day she followed up with next day with two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Huntington University (Indiana). She scored the team’s first goal of the team in the 59th minute, assisted the next goal in the 66th minute, and added her second goal in the 74th minute.

At the end of the week Bianchi recorded her second hat trick as she tallied three goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Bethel College (Mishawaka, Indiana).  Her first two goals in the game were scored within one minute of each other.

For the week Bianchi was credited with two game winning goals. She had a total of 20 shots of which 14 were on-goal. With eight goals and two assists she has a total of 18 points for the week and season and ranks in the top 10 in goals and points in the early NAIA national statistics.
