Trinity Takes Care of Bethel

The Trolls added another win to end their opening week with three victories. The latest victory was a 7-1 win over Bethel College (Mishawaka, Indiana). The Trolls scored four goals in the first period to take a 4-1 lead at the half. They added another three in the second period. With the win the team is 3-0 for the season.

Jessica Bianchi continues to dominate the offense as she posted a hat trick for the second time this season.  Her first two goals come within a minute of each other at the 15:32 and 16:28. She also scored the team’s fifth goal of the game which came 10 minutes into the second period. An addition to her goals she had one assist.

The scoring for the team started off in the first five minutes when Drew McCarthy scored her first collegiate goal to give the team the lead. That goal was answered by Bethel in the 9th minute to make it a 1-1 game.

After the two goals by Bianchi, Elly Brummel added another in the 40th minute to put the team ahead 4-1 at the half.

In addition to Bianchi’s goal in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, Kaleigh Van Elst scored in the 62nd minute and Lexi Zambrano got the final goal of the game in the 72nd minute.

For the game Chloe Smith, Alexa Miller, and Shaelyn Postmus each had an assist. Sierra Christopher and Emily Ponstein split time in the goal. Overall the Trolls had 36 shots and they held Bethel to two.

The team is at home once again on August 29 against Lincoln Christian University at 4 pm.
