Breanna Toppen Named to NCCAA All-Region Team

Breanna Toppen (DeMotte, Indiana) received post-season recognition as she was named to the NCCAA North Central All-Region Team. The junior guard was one of 12 players that received the honor for the eight team region. For the season she led the team in scoring with a total of 434 points for a 15.0 point per game average.  She ranked tenth in the conference in scoring.  In addition she led the CCAC in free throw percentage at .891 percent (90-of-101).  Toppen also contributed to the team with 2.5 three-pointers made per game, ranking third in the conference, 2.1 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game.

Along with the honor for her on-the-court performance, Toppen is also a scholar-athlete with recognition from the NAIA, NCCAA, and CCAC. Also on the CCAC Scholar Team was sophomore Alyssa Mulligan (La Porte, Indiana), junior Abbigal Nienhuis (Zeeland, Michigan), sophomore Rachel Rasmussen (Sheboygan, Wisconsin), and sophomore Moira Garvey (New Lenox, Illinois).

In addition the team was recognized by the conference with the Champions of Character Team Award for exemplifying the NAIA’s value which include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and student leadership.
