Trinity Downed by Southeastern

It was a tough outing for the Trolls as they faced nationally ranked No. 2 Southeastern University (Lakeland, Florida) in an exhibition game.  The team managed only 14 points in the first half and trailed by 62 points at the intermission.  Southeastern hit the century mark late in the third quarter and by the end of the game the Trolls were handed a 135-43 loss.

The game quickly got out of hand as Southeastern connected on 15 three-pointers in the first half and forced 23 turnovers.  Trinity only scored two points in the first seven minutes of the game and by that time trailed at 28-2. By the end of the quarter the team was down 34-6. The Trolls gave up 42 points in the second period and at the break were down 76-14.

In the second period Southeastern continued to be hot from the field. The Trolls’ best quarter was the third one in which they scored 21 of their 43 total points. However they followed it with eight points in the fourth quarter to be out-scored by 30 points in the second half.

The Trolls shot .327 percent from the field, .115 percent from the arc, and .667 percent from the line. Southeastern was .599 percent from the floor, .511 percent (23-of-45) from the three-point line, and .571 percent from the line. The Trolls had 25 points and Southeastern had 47. Trinity also committed 37 turnovers. Aubrey Goorman led the team with 13 points and three assists. Bailey Larsen had 12 points and eight rebounds.
