Trolls Play in Florida

The Trolls have started their semester break with a trip to Florida where they will play in three contests. Their first game was an exhibition contest at NCAA Div. II Rollins College (Winter Park, Florida). Trinity fell behind in the first minute of the game and did not own the top spot on the scoreboard for the rest of the game. At the half the Trolls were down at 49-22 and by the end of the game they lost 85-46.

The Trolls scored the first basket of the game, but gave up the next two and the lead for the rest of the game.  Two minutes into the opening quarter, Rollins went on a 14 point run to take a 21-5 lead. By the end of the quarter the difference was 17 points at 28-11.

Trinity did not score for the first four minutes of the second period to fall behind by 29 points. They added only another 11 points to their score in the period while Rollins tacked on 21 for a 49-22 half-time score.

In the second half the Trolls scored 12 in each period, but were not able to contain Rollins. The team continued to fall further behind.  They trailed by 29 at the end of the third, and at the end of the game the difference was 10 more at 39.

For the game the Trolls shot .294 percent from the floor, .296 percent from the arc, and .667 percent from the line. Rollins was .432 percent from the field, .321 percent from the three-point line, and .706 percent from the free throw line. Trinity ended the game with 24 rebounds and Rollins had 57. Val Guzman led the Trolls with 15 points, which all came from the three-point line. Aubrey Goorman had eight points and Alexis Knake had five rebounds.

The team will play in other exhibition game on December 18 at Southeastern University at 5 pm ET.
