Lauren Stokes Scores 1,000th Career Point

In front of a home crowd in the DeVos Gymnasium on January 20 senior guard Lauren Stokes (DeMotte, Indiana) scored her 1,000th career point. Stokes entered the conference game against Trinity International University 17 points shy of the milestone mark.  With 4:11 to play in the game Stokes made two free throws that put her total exactly at the 1,000 point total.  Stokes ended the game with 17 points to leave her with the grand total.

In her first three seasons Stokes accumulated a total of 739 points. In her rookie season she earned 194 points, as a sophomore she tallied 192 points, and last year she averaged 11.0 points per game for 353 points.  In the 22 games played this season she is the second leading scorer on the team with an 11.9 point average for a total of 261 points.

She leads the team with 2.6 assists per game, averages 2.0 steals per game, and collects 3.0 rebounds per game. Stokes shoots .398 percent from the field, including .380 percent from the three-point line, and is .830 percent accurate from the free throw line.
