Ally Giampapa Named CCAC Player of the Week

Helping the team to two victories and setting a new school record, Ally Giampapa (Bartlett, Illinois) was named CCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 25-30.  The 5-7 junior guard had an impressive two games as she averaged 26.0 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.5 steals. She led the team in scoring and was highly proficient from the three-point line in each of the two wins that came in a trip to Ohio.     

Against Ohio Christian University on December 29 Giampapa recorded a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds. The majority of her points came from the three-point line, where she connected on 8-of-16 treys and set a new school mark for three-pointers made in a single game.  In addition she picked up six steals in the 87-85 overtime win.  

In the 62-56 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University, a team receiving votes in the NAIA Poll, she just missed registering her second double-double of the week. She ended the game with 18 points and nine rebounds. She was again accurate from the arc with four three-pointers in her eight attempts. Overall for the week she was .500 percent (12-of-24) from the three-point line.  

For the season Giampapa leads the team with a 15.5 point average. She has made 50 three-pointers with a .368 percentage.  She ranks seventh in the CCAC in scoring and third in three-pointers made. In addition Giampapa averages 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game.

The Trolls are 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
