Trolls Ease by Great Lakes Christian

In a break in their conference schedule the Trolls hosted Great Lakes Christian College (Lansing, Michigan).  The first-ever meeting of these two programs resulted in a lopsided win for Trinity with a 66-14 final. The game was never in doubt as the Trolls led the entire 40 minutes and had everyone in the action. The team is now 9-10 for the season.

The Trolls scored the first three baskets of the game, before Great Lakes Christian hit a three-pointer to get on the board. Midway through the first quarter Trinity had a 13-5 lead and finished out the next five minutes with a 10-to-0 run to go ahead by 18 at the end of the quarter. Great Lakes Christian added only three points in the second quarter and at the half the Troll had a 34-6 lead.

The scoring gap continued to increase after Great Lakes Christian was scoreless in the third quarter. By the end of that 10 minute period Trinity was ahead at 52-8. The Trolls added another 14 points in the final quarter and Great Lakes Christian scored six to bring the final score to 66-14.

The Trolls shot .338 percent for the game and were .786 percent from the line. They had a total of 68 rebounds, of which 29 were offensive.  Alexis Knake led the team in scoring with 16 points while Breanna Toppen had 15. Carissa Wisse was the high rebounder with nine boards. Lauren Stokes had four assists and five steals.

The team returns to conference action on January 18 at Calumet College of St. Joseph at 5:30 pm.
