Trolls Get First CCAC Win

The Trolls recorded their first conference win of the season in a home contest with Robert Morris University (Chicago, Illinois).  After giving up the first basket, Trinity took over the lead and held it throughout the rest of the game. At the half they were head at 37-24, and they ended in a 68-50 win. The team moves back to the .500 mark at 5-5 and are 1-4 in the CCAC.

Robert Morris hit a three-pointer in the opening seconds of the game, but the Trolls answered with the next 12 points to take over the lead. By the midway point of the first quarter they were up by double digits and with 25 points in the period they had an eight-point lead after the first 10 minutes.

The Trolls limited the Eagles to only seven points in the second period while they added 12. As a result they increased their lead to 13, 37-24, at the half.

Trinity went on 12-to-2 run in the first six minutes of the third period to extend their lead to 23 points. By the end of the quarter the score was 54-33. The Trolls’ lead was never in danger in the final quarter as everyone contributed to the game and the team took the 18-point victory.

For the game Trinity shot .371 percent from the field, .333 percent from the arc, and .625 percent from the line. Robert Morris was .304 percent accurate in field goals, including .125 percent in three-pointers, and .545 percent in free throws. The Trolls collected 50 rebounds and the Eagles had 43. Bethany Jansma led the team with 23 points, connecting on 8-of-11 attempts. Celina Wanta had 12 points. Kelsie Foster was the high rebounder with eight and Katie Moran had four assists.

The Trolls play next on December 8 in an exhibition game at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 6 pm.
