Track Athletes of the Week Honors

With their performance at the Benedictine University Invitational in Lisle, Illinois, two track and field athletes were honored with Student-Athlete of the Week honors.  Sophomore Madelyn Clausen (Lakeville, Minnesota) was recognized as the NCCAA Track and Field Athlete of the Week for field events and sophomore Olivia Hoekstra earned CCAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week for running events.

Clausen earned the weekly recognition with a first place performance among seven competitors in the high jump. She cleared a height of 5-04.25 (1.63m) to set a new school record. Her mark bested her own previous height of 5-03.25 set in the first outdoor meet this season on March 9. Clausen is a NCCAA national qualifier and has the top mark in the NCCAA this season.

Hoekstra was named the track runner of the week after finishing in first place in the 400 meter with a time of 1:00.23. She outran 18 other competitors in the race to claim first place. Her performance was the second time this season she has hit the NCCAC qualifying mark in the event. Hoekstra was also a part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team which took fifth place of ten teams with a time of 4:18.60.
