Trinity Competes at Olivet Nazarene

The Trolls were one of many schools represented at the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational (Bourbonnais, Illinois). The meet had a wide variety of NAIA and NCAA teams with multiple athletes in each event.  While team scores were not kept, the Trolls gained great experience competing at this venue and against a high level of competition.

A couple of highlights for the women’s team came in the field events. Miranda Nikkel bested her distance in the weight throw with a distance of 41-02.5. She finished in 19th place in the event. Muabon Paye was in the top 16 in both the long jump and triple jump. She finished 13th in the long jump at 16-04.25 and 16th in the triple jump at 33-07.25. Madelyn Clausen took fourth place in the high jump with a height of 4-11.75.

On the track for the women Olivet Hoekstra was the highest place finisher at 12th place of 38 runners in the 400 meter. Her time was 1:01.99

On the men’s team the highest place finisher was Brantley VanOverloop in the 1000 meter. He took 15th place overall of the 28 runners in the event. He finished with a time of 2:43.31. Nathan Krygsheld was also a top 20 finisher when he crossed the line in 19th place of 36 runners in the 600 meter. He clocked a time of 1:30.42.
