Track and Field Women At Chicagoland Championships
The women’s track and field teams started action in the Chicagoland Championships hosted at North Central College (Naperville, Illinois). In the Friday night action the Trolls finished with 16 points and took 13th of the 25 teams.
The Trolls took home one first place individual finish when Ashley Jourdan out-distanced 25 other runners in the 1000 meter. She crossed the line with a time of 3:05.20 and was only a couple of second off the NAIA qualifying standard. Jourdan was also a member of the distance medley relay team, along with Brittany Hoekman, Anna Spotts, and Nicole Syverson, that took third place with a time of 13:02.79.
In the field events Rachel Janke had a good day with a NCCAA qualifying throw in the weight throw. She recorded a distance of 41-05.00 and took 28th of 48 competitors.
The men’s team will be at North Central in the Chicagoland Championships on Saturday with action starting at 10:30 am.
