Indoor Competition at Olivet Nazarene

The Trolls competed at the Perry Student Life Recreation Center in the Olivet Nazarene University Invite (Bourbonnais, Illinois) with a variety of NAIA and NCAA DIII teams. Team scores were not kept, but Trinity had a many strong performances. Two athletes reached the NCCAA qualifying standard marks.

In the running events for the women’s team Ashley Jourdan placed in 8th place of 43 competitors in the 800 meter run. She finished in a time of 2:24.48 which was a NCCAA qualifying performance. A strong field event performance came from Daisy Geurink in the shot put. Her throw of 36-07 was also a NCCAA qualifying mark and good enough for 10th place of the 24 throwers.

The members of the men’s team tested their abilities on the track and in the field. They pushed for personal bests and tried new races to gain experience in the indoor competition. The team had five runners compete in the 3000 meter with Alex Clark leading the group of Trinity runners.

The Trolls will compete next in the Chicagoland Championships at North Central College. The women compete on February 10 at 5 pm and the men on February 11 at 10 am.
