Softball Athletes Earn Recognition

With 2019 softball season in the books, the post-season honors have been released.  Receiving honors from the conference and the NCCAA North Central Region was sophomore Brandi Machado (Chino, California).  In addition six student-athletes received scholar-athlete recognition.

Starting catcher Machado was named to the CCAC All-Conference Second-Team and NCCAA All-Region Team. She played in 23 games for the season and was the team’s leader with a .355 batting average and a .500 slugging percentage. She posted 22 hits, including six doubles and one home run. In addition she had a total of 11 RBI.

For their excellent work in the classroom, seniors Jessica Boyd (Braidwood, Illinois) and Dara Megyesi (Washington, Illinois) scholar-athlete recognition from the NAIA, NCCAA, and the CCAC. Joining them on the conference scholar list were junior Claudia Pareja (Miami, Florida), and sophomores Makayla Otto (New Lenox, Illinois), Audrey Ricker (Alexandria, Indiana), and Leah Sweetman (Fremont, Michigan).
