Trinity Drops Pair of Games at Indiana Tech

The Trolls played in a non-conference double-header at Indiana Tech (Fort Wayne, Indiana). Trinity gave up ten runs in each contest and suffered two losses. In the first game the Trolls were in a deficit after the early innings and could not make up the difference as they lost 10-4. The second game ended in the sixth inning when the Trolls fell behind by eight runs with a 10-2 score.

Trinity trailed after the first inning of the first game when Indiana Tech hit a two-run homer. The Trolls got one run back in the top of the second when Emili Bell doubled and scored on a single by Liza Moore.

The scoring difference increased in the third inning when the Warriors added seven runs for a 9-1 lead. The Trolls fought back in the fourth and had four hits to score three runs to close to 9-4. However they did not score again and Indiana Tech tacked on one more in the bottom of the fourth to make the final 10-4.

Trinity had six hits for the game and Indiana Tech had eight. Moore ended the game with two hits and three RBI and Bell had two hits.

While the Trolls got on base and in scoring position in each of the first three innings, they were not able to score. Indiana Tech also was active on the base path in the first three innings. They were able to turn their hits and base running into runs and after three innings had an 8-0 lead.

Trinity got on the board in the fifth inning with two runs on back-to-back doubles by Sydni Mitchell and Bell and a single by Audrey Ricker. Indiana Tech added one run in the fifth inning to go ahead 9-2 and then scored another in the sixth inning to make it an eight run difference to end the game on the mercy rule.

For the game Trinity had six hits and Indiana Tech had 11. Bell and Makayla Otto led the team with two hits each.

The Trolls play next on April 23 at Cardinal Stritch University in a conference double-header.
