Trolls Sweep Pilots

In a non-conference double-header the Trolls grabbed two victories over Bethel College (Mishawaka, Indiana). Trinity led the entire first game and took a 5-1 win. The Trolls shut-out the Pilots in the second game with a 4-0 final. With the wins the team moves back to the .500 mark overall with a 17-17 record.

In the opening game the Trolls got on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning when Katelyn Sena doubled and eventually scored on a RBI by Katie Shoulta. On four hits the Trolls added three runs in the 3rd inning to make it 4-0.

Bethel scored in the top of the 5th inning, but the Trolls came back with one run in the bottom half to stay ahead by four runs. Trinity held the Pilots in the next two innings for the 5-1 win.

The Trolls had eight hits for the game with Mercedes Munoz and Sena each recording two. They also both had two RBIs.  Jenna Steinkamp got the win on the mound.

In the second game the Trolls limited Bethel to only two hits while they tallied 13. It was not until the 4th inning that Trinity scored.  Chloe McRobbie had an RBI double followed by a RBI single by Jamie Budreau to give the team two runs.

A solo homer by Dara Megyesi in the 5th inning put the Trolls up 3-0. In the 6th they added another run with three singles. The Trolls did not allow Bethel to gain ground in their final at bat and took the 4-0 win.

Budreau led the team with four hits and two RBI while McRobbie and Megyesi each had three hits. Megyesi pitched the entire game for the win.

The Trolls play next on April 22 at Roosevelt University in a 5 pm double-header.
