Trolls Defeat Crimson Wave

The Trolls continue to move up in the conference standings as they added their fourth win in a row. This latest victory came in a road game at Calumet College of St. Joseph (Whiting, Indiana). The Trolls scored first, but at the half the game was tied 1-1. Trinity added another two goals midway through the second period for a 3-1 lead. Each team got one more before time expired for a 4-2 final.  The Trolls are now 5-10-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the CCAC.

Trinity gained the advantage in the game when they scored in the 27th minute. The first goal was put in the net by Fekadu Timmermans on an assist from Alejandro Sotelo. The team’s lead did not last long as Calumet-St. Joseph scored four minutes later to make it 1-1. That score held at the half.

The Trolls took control of the game with two goals within minutes of each other in the second half. In the 66th minute Tyler Massa finished a pass from Justin Taylor.  Within a couple of minutes Sotelo gave the Trolls a 3-1 cushion on an unassisted goal.

The Crimson Wave tightened the score late in the game when they scored in the 80th minute to pull to within one. However Trinity answered that goal a minute later when Massa made a penalty kick good for the 4-2 final.

Overall the Trolls had 13 shots for the game with nine on goal. Calumet-St. Joseph had 12 shots with five on goal.  Mathis Muller finished with three saves.

The Trolls will play in their final regular season game on October 27 at Saint Xavier at 8 pm.
