Mathis Muller Earns Player of the Week Honors

The Trolls have posted three wins in a row, including two conference shut-out victories in the week of October 15-20. Credited with the two shut-outs, sophomore goalkeeper Mathis Muller (Duren, Germany) was named the NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

The week started with an upset 1-0 win over Holy Cross College (Notre Dame, Indiana). In those 90 minutes in the goal, Muller had three saves to keep the Saints out of the net.  The Trolls followed that win with a 1-0 victory over Trinity International University (Deerfield, Illinois) in which Muller grabbed six saves.

For the season Muller has recorded four shut-outs and ranks third in the conference in shut-out average. He also has 75 saves and a 2.37 goal against average.

With their three recent wins the Trolls have moved up in the conference standings and are currently tied for eighth place in the standings. They are 4-10-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the CCAC with two regular season games left.
