Trolls Snatch Late Game Victory

The Trolls make it two in a row with a home victory in a conference game with Holy Cross College (Notre Dame, Indiana). The game was scoreless until the final five minutes of the game when Trinity struck to take the lead. The team held off the Saints in the closing minutes to post the 1-0 win. Trinity is now 3-10-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the CCAC.

There were a few more shot attempts in the second period as each team tried to gain the advantage. With 4:30 left on the clock Kris Kirchhoff took a long free kick that sailed out of the reach of the Holy Cross goalkeeper to find the back of the net.

In the remaining time Holy Cross had two good shot attempts, one of which went wide and another that was saved by Mathis Muller. The Saints also put the ball in front of the goal in the final seconds and it touched a number of players before Muller secured it and held it as time expired.

For the game the Trolls ended with six shots and Holy Cross had nine. Muller recorded three saves.

Trinity plays again at home on October 20 against Trinity International University at 2:30 pm.
