Trinity Loses Two at Judson

It was a stormy game in terms of weather and outcome for the Trolls in a conference game at Judson University (Elgin, Illinois).  Trinity gave up one goal in the first period and trailed 1-0 at the half. After an hour rain delay, the teams were back on the field.  Judson took over the game as they scored five goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Eagles added one more goal to take a 7-0 lead. Trinity prevented the shut-out with a goal to make the final 7-1.

The only goal of the first period came 15 minutes into the game when Judson got on the board. That shot was the only one of the Eagles’ eight attempts in the period that was on-goal. The Trolls took four shots in the half with two stopped by Judson’s keeper.

A storm rolled at half-time and the usual 15 minute break grew to an hour delay before the teams got back on the field.  When play resumed the floodgates opened for Judson as they scored in the 48th, 49th, 50th, 51st, and 55th minutes to take a 6-0 lead. The Eagles tacked on another goal in the 66th minute to increase the scoring gap further.

The Trolls were finally able to mark the scoreboard when Alejandro Sotelo scored on a Fekadu Timmermans pass in the 70th minute.

Overall Trinity ended with nine shots and Judson had 20.

The team will host the University of St. Francis on September 27 in a conference game at 2:30 pm.
