Trolls Get First Win of Season

Perseverance paid off for the Trolls as they faced their third opponent in four days.  In a game at Clarke University (Dubuque, Iowa), the team picked up their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory. The Trolls scored early in the first period and maintained their lead throughout the remainder of the contest.  After 83 minutes of play, the game was officially called due to threatening weather conditions. The Trolls are now 1-4 for the season.

The only goal in the game came in the opening 15 minutes of play.  That counter belonged to Davi Simoes and gave the team the 1-0 lead. While Trinity had a total of 12 shots in the half, they held Clarke to five.

In the second period Trinity continued to put pressure on and attack the goal. At the same time they held strong defensively and kept the Pride from scoring. With lightning in the area and weather conditions deteriorating the game was called with 7:07 left on the clock and the Trolls took the shut-out win.

Overall the Trolls had 19 shots for the game and Clarke had 14. Mathis Muller was in the goal with seven saves.

The team is next in action on September 8 at Spring Arbor University.
