Trinity Loses at Northwestern

The second day of action in northwest Iowa brought another loss for the Trolls as they played at Northwestern College (Orange City, Iowa). The team trailed by one goal at the half and played in that 1-0 deficit for most of the second period.  However in the final 15 minutes of the game Northwestern scored four goals to hand the Trolls a 5-0 loss.

In the first half the Red Raiders gained the advantage when they scored a goal midway through the period. That goal was the only one of the period as the teams went into a 1-0 half-time score.

Trinity and Northwestern played in that one goal difference through the first 30 minutes of the second period. The floodgates then opened for the Red Raiders. With 15 minutes left they scored to make it 2-0. With under ten minutes left they tacked on three more scoring in the 82nd minute, 86th minute, and in the final 50 seconds of the game.

The Trolls had a total of eight shots and Northwestern had 17. Mathis Muller had four saves.

Trinity will play another game in Iowa as they head back to campus. On September 3 they will play at Clarke University at 5 pm.
